Suzie Shade of Hamburg raised $8,165 for the Holly Heilman Cancer Fund with the help of Pennsylvania Dutch Campground, Upper Tulpehocken Township.
The fund was founded by Holly (Painter) Heilman's family. Heilman of Mohnton died of breast cancer in 1998 at the age of 38, leaving behind her husband and 4-year-old son.
Most people associate a campground with outdoor fun and family time. However, in the case of Pennsylvania Dutch Campground, this past summer it served as the venue to raise the highest single donation ever given to the Holly Heilman Cancer Fund. (read the full article from the Reading Eagle here)
